AVA South East Regional Meeting

The AVA South East Regional meeting was held on the 14th March 2017 at The World Wildlife Federation’s ‘Living Planet Centre’ in Woking, Surrey. The theme for the evening was ‘recycling and sustainability’ so the surroundings matched this perfectly. The ‘Living Planet Centre’ is one of the greenest buildings in the UK and every aspect of the building has been designed to this ethos. We were welcomed by the WWF with a detailed tour of the building to see for ourselves! The building has one many awards and we got to see what made it so special. We then started the more formal part of our evening with a talk from the WWF. The facilities manager of the building, Peter Best welcomed us to the centre with further details on the building. It was then time for our next speakers, Mike Saltmarsh and Adrian Pratt of the AVA Cup Committee passionately updated us on the issues surrounding cup recycling. Our speakers for the night finished with Peter Goodwin of Simply Cups. Peter educated us on one of the ways that cups can be recycled and how we can help. It was a great and educating evening enjoyed by all – thank you to all of our speakers and to the WWF. If you would like a copy of the presentation then please contact Rosie on rosie.mills@the-ava.com
